The Original Commission
The first P50 Cabriolet began with an unusual request. Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Thani wanted to create a truly unique gift for the Emir of Qatar — a bespoke open-top reinterpretation of the world’s smallest production car.
What followed was the creation of the P50 Cabriolet, a hand-built Peel P50 convertible homage of the iconic microcar, engineered and constructed entirely by hand.
Two Cars in Existence
To date, only two P50 Cabriolets have been built by P50CARS.
The first was commissioned as part of an exclusive presentation series for Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Thani, finished in Daytona White with Qatari maroon detailing inspired by the national flag.
With just two examples ever created, the P50 Cabriolet ranks among the rarest coachbuilt cars in existence. Even legendary collector vehicles such as the Ferrari 250 GTO were produced in 36 examples, while the McLaren F1 saw 106 road cars built.
The second Cabriolet was later commissioned by a prominent American business family and became the world’s first electric P50 convertible. Finished in Daytona White with deep Azure Blue detailing, the car reinterprets the concept with a modern electric drivetrain while maintaining the distinctive character of the original design.

Coachbuilt Construction
Creating a P50 Cabriolet requires far more than simply removing the roof. Each car begins as a standard P50 shell which is carefully cut and reshaped, with the roof section removed and the internal structure completely rebuilt by hand to restore rigidity.
From this point onward the Cabriolet becomes a true coachbuilt project. Structural reinforcements are fabricated individually, mounting points are redesigned, and the bodywork is hand-formed during the conversion process. Even the exterior trim is produced specifically for each car, including the hand-formed chrome detailing that is shaped and finished to suit the individual body.
Because every Cabriolet is constructed in this way, no two examples are ever exactly the same. Each vehicle develops its own subtle character through the hand-built process, making every P50 Cabriolet a unique interpretation of the design.
The result is a genuine coachbuilt reinterpretation of the P50 — the world’s smallest car, transformed into a fully open Cabriolet.
Future Cabriolet builds will be produced only on a strictly limited commission basis.
