World’s Strongest Man vs World’s Smallest Car

Smallest Car vs Strongest Man

P50 EDY

Built for Eddie “The Beast” Hall, the 2017 World’s Strongest Man. At over 380 lb (172 kg), Eddie’s size meant we had to carry out some serious upgrades to his Peel P50. A bigger motor, stiffer front shocks, and twin rear shocks were all added to handle the extra weight. It proved surprisingly quick and handy—especially when Eddie decided to take it Christmas tree shopping.

A year later, Eddie wanted even more power, so we developed the “Beast” upgrade: an even bigger motor and controller. We tested it properly with a full lap of the iconic Isle of Man TT circuit. Eddie was so pleased with the results that he decided to drag race his fast tank.

Eddie has big friends too. The tallest person ever to fit in a Peel P50—7 ft 2 in (2.2 m)—was “The Dutch Giant” Olivier Richters, the world’s tallest bodybuilder. Another of Eddie’s mates holds the record as the heaviest to fit in a Peel P50: a 440 lb (200 kg) bodybuilder, who commented that the suspension was “very good.” Eddie has also squeezed his friend Brian Shaw, all 6 ft 8 in of him, into the Peel as well.
