Fitting the Anti-roll (Pumphrey) bar and Handbrake Bracket.
STEP 1
Step 1 – Position the Handbrake Bracket
Place the handbrake bracket into position using the pre-drilled hole in the bodyshell.
The bracket mounts to the furthest forward mounting hole.
Insert the bolt loosely to hold the bracket in place.
Push the bracket sideways until it touches the inner edge of the P50 sill.
STEP 2
Step 2 – Mark and Drill the Holes
Using a marker pen, mark the two remaining mounting holes through the bracket.
Remove the bracket.
Drill both marked holes using an 5/16″ or 8/8.5 mm drill bit
Tip: Apply light pressure at first to allow the GRP to warm slightly as the drill bit spins. Gradually increase pressure — this helps create a smoother hole in the fibreglass.
STEP 3
Step 3 – Mount the Handbrake Bracket
Clear away drilling debris.
Wipe the surface clean.
Reposition the bracket.
Secure using the supplied bolts and serrated flange nuts.
Tighten firmly so the serrations grip the surface.
Tip: We recommend applying a small amount of thread lock to help secure the bolts.
STEP 4
Step 4 – Position the Rear Anti-Roll (Pumphrey) Bar
Place the anti-roll bar flat against the inner rear side of the P50 bodyshell.
Using a ruler, measure 2 inches (50 mm) back from the back of the last strengthening rib in the base.
This marks the position of the first mounting hole.
STEP 5
Step 5 – Mark and Drill the Anti-Roll Bar Holes
Hold the bar flat against the underside of the body and inner rear side.
Mark the mounting holes with a marker pen.
Check fitment by holding the rear panel.
Ensure the anti-roll bar does not interfere with the rear panel.
Remove the anti-roll bar.
Drill the two marked holes.
Clear debris and wipe clean.
STEP 6
Step 6 – Test Mount the Anti-Roll Bar.
Bolt the anti-roll bar in place hand tight using the bolts and serrated flange nuts
Push the back of the anti-roll bar against the side of the rear of the P50.
Mark the rear mounting hole.
Remove the anti-roll bar.
Drill the rear hole.
STEP 7
Step 7 – Final Mounting
Clean away debris.
Refit the anti-roll bar.
Tighten all bolts fully applying a small amount of thread lock.
